With Arsenal up 1-0 against Queens Park Rangers, striker Olivier Giroud was tripped up in pursuit of a loose ball. Giroud then turned on the man responsible for his fall, Nedum Onuoha, and headbutted the defender.

The red card not only set Arsenal down to 10 men for the remainder of the match (37 minutes plus extra time), but because of the violent nature of the act, will result in at least a three-match ban for Giroud. From this angle, the suspension might be even longer.

As Giroud exited the pitch, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger gave him a look that better encapsulates the play than any words on earth.

It was the dumbest play.
