Former Florida Gators head coach Urban Meyer and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow combined for two national championships in 2007 and 2009 – and though Meyer and Tebow’s partnership ended with a win in the 2010 Sugar Bowl over Cincinnati, the Gators missed out on the chance at a third title by losing to Nick Saban and Alabama in the SEC Championship game that year.

Meyer, who left Florida after the 2010 season and spent a year away from coaching before taking the Ohio State job in 2012, will face his old SEC rival in the College Football Playoff on January 1st. On Wednesday night, Tebow spoke to Meyer’s Buckeyes ahead of a showdown with Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.
