Kobe Bryant’s final game took down the Lakers’ Twitter account

Twitter had all sorts of issues Wednesday night. And during the second half of Kobe Bryant’s final game, the official Lakers Twitter account mysteriously disappeared.

The handle stopped showing up in Twitter searches. Really, the entire account was gone … during Kobe’s last game.

This likely had something to do with Twitter’s troubles during the night, which could have overloaded the Lakers’ account.

Talk about bad timing.

Kobe’s last game was obviously a huge deal for the Lakers, and it’s less than ideal to have the Twitter account crash, obviously. But the social staff reacted quickly and communicated about the issues through a secondary account.

The account was gone for about 35 minutes, but when it returned, it returned with a sense of humor.

Never trust technology.
