Paxton Lynch, the quarterback out of Memphis, was selected 26th by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night. The Broncos moved up five spots after trading picks with the Seahawks.
The 22-year-old was overcome with emotions after his name was called.
Additionally, Lynch’s name was announced by a 16-year-old cancer survivor and Broncos fan, which was extremely cool.
On air it was said that Lynch received a personal welcome call from John Elway. Elway also expressed his excitement on Twitter.
