Russell Westbrook roasts Charlie Villanueva in the postgame press conference

The Dallas Mavericks’ Charlie Villanueva criticized the Thunder for their pregame antics throughout the series, but Russell Westbrook had the last word.

And oh my, he obliterated Villanueva.

Villanueva was taunting Westbrook during pregame warmups on Monday, and after the series-clinching win, Westbrook was asked about the exchange.

He said:

“Now he gets to go home and do whatever he needs to do to be ready for next year, to sit down and watch 82 more games like he did this year.”

Durant added that Villanueva may not even be in the league next season.

That’s cold.

Villanueva averaged 10.7 minutes per game this season, but he made little on-court impact during the series with Oklahoma City. He scored 9 points in 20 minutes all series.

The lesson in all this for Villanueva is pretty clear: Don’t make Westbrook angry.
