Former Miss Black New Jersey wins Miss Haiti Supranational 2024, heads to Poland.

Not just an ordinary beauty, Tarah-Lynn Saint-Elien has made her mark in the beauty scene. On March 8, it was announced that the former 2018 Miss Black New Jersey had been crowned the 2024 Miss Haiti Supranational. She is set to represent Haiti in the 15th Miss Supranational final in Poland this coming July.

“[We are] thrilled to announce the radiant Tarah-Lynn Saint-Elien as our reigning Miss Supranational Haiti 2024! 🇭🇹” Miss Supranational Haiti posted on Instagram and Facebook.

The beauty queen turned fashion editor began her career in the industry nearly 10 years ago as a fashion intern at Elle.com, where she managed fashion and beauty closets and transcribed interviews.

“You want to work in media or fashion? Intern. Can’t find a job? Still, intern. It’s never too early, and it’s never too late to go after what you want,” Saint-Elien said in a 2018 interview with The Haitian Times. “Be persistent in what you love to do even when you don’t see the benefits right away.”

Saint-Elien, a fashion editor at Cosmopolitan magazine who previously served as a style editor for The Haitian Times, succeeds Merlie Fleurizard, who represented Haiti in 2023.

From starting as a fashion intern, to becoming a published author, and now a pageant queen, Saint-Elien’s journey is a testament to her determination and versatility. Her story is nothing short of remarkable and serves as an inspiration to many.

In 2013, she founded Adorned in Armor, a faith-based brand that produces content and events for young women on topics ranging from fashion to faith. In 2017, at only 23 years old, she signed a triple book deal with Baker Publishing Group where she published “She Reigns,” “Claim Your Crown,” and “Love Letters from the King.”

“This book is definitely one of the most vulnerable that I’ve written,” she said at a 2023 book signing for She Reigns. It’s for anybody struggling with negative thoughts or feeling like certain emotions are overcoming them.”

Her work is making a significant impact in the fashion industry, further solidifying her status as a fashion and faith inspiration for young Haitian American women all over the world.

“Something that Tarah-Lynn would tell me anytime I felt anxious or scared was to ask ‘where did it come from?’,” said Medgina Saint-Elien, Saint-Ellien’s younger sister at the book signing. “[She’d] remind me that fear isn’t from God. That’s not something he gives us, and so if you’re [afraid], direct it back to Jesus.”
