“Real Housewives of New York City” alum Kelly Bensimon decided not to go forward with her wedding.
Page Six reported that the former Bravo personality will not be walking down the aisle with her now ex-fiance, Scott Litner. According to the publication, Bensimon ended her engagement less than a week prior to when she intended to take her wedding vows.
The mother of two released a statement regarding her recent split. In the statement, she shared she would like to focus on her daughters, Sea Bensimon, 26, and Teddy Bensimon, 23, fathered by her ex-husband, Gilles Francis Charles Bensimon.
“I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I won’t be moving forward with this wedding,” read Bensimon’s statement.
Kelly Bensimon Discussed Being Engaged to Scott Litner
Bensimon discussed her engagement to Litner during a May 2023 interview with Us Weekly. She shared that she met Litner at a New York Rangers game. She stated that she felt an almost immediate connection to Litner.
“We come from a similar background. So that’s really nice. And he’s just very — he’s a good athlete. He works in finance. He’s very balanced,” said the RHONY alum.
She also discussed being proposed to on July 4, 2023. The mother of two shared that Litner popped the question during their trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Bensimon stated that she was surprised by the proposal.
“It was just like very very genuine,” said the former Bravo personality.
She clarified that he had been open about wanting to marry her.
“Literally after I met him — a couple weeks, he was like, ‘This is the kind of ring I would like you to wear.’ And I was like, ‘Um, you’re really like freaking me out,” said Bensimon with a laugh.
In addition, she stated that her daughters were excited for her to get married. She also shared that she and Litner intended to have two weddings.
Bensimon revealed that she planned on inviting several Bravo stars, like RHONY alum Luann de Lesseps to their wedding. She shared that de Lesseps and Litner had a close friendship.
Kelly Bensimon Discussed Returning to Bravo in a December 2023 Interview
During a joint December 2023 Access Hollywood interview, alongside de Lesseps, Bensimon discussed filming “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.” Bensimon shared that De Lesseps convinced her to film a Bravo series again. As fans are aware, Bensimon left RHONY as a main cast member after its fourth season, which premiered in 2011.
“[De Lesseps has] been like, ‘Come to Bravo. Come.’ For many, many years. So this wasn’t any kind of shock to me. Just so fun to be with Luann and Sonja [Morgan] who I love. And Dorinda [Medley], who I have met socially many times, who’s just so great,” said the model.
De Lesseps confirmed that she encouraged Bensimon to star in “Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy.”
“Whenever I got the chance, I was like, ‘Kelly, there’s a party. Want to come?’ And try to lure her back into the mix of things,” said de Lesseps.
