Jones chipped in 18 points (6-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 124-92 loss to the Thunder in Game 2 of the Western Conference first round. Jones posted his best performance of the current postseason run, but his efforts were not enough as the Pelicans suffered a 32-point loss and now face an 0-2 deficit in the first-round series. Jones has scored in double digits in just four of his 12 appearances this month, and this 18-point output tied his best scoring mark since posting a 19-point effort against Miami on Feb. 23, so he's not expected to carry the Pelicans on offense in Game 3 on Saturday.

Herbert Jones Latest News
Efficient despite loss in Game 2
![Team logo](https://cdn.statically.io/img/heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/new-orleans-pelicans-logo.png?w=150)
Passive performance Tuesday
![Team logo](https://cdn.statically.io/img/heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/new-orleans-pelicans-logo.png?w=150)
Jones finished Tuesday's 110-106 Play-In Game loss to the Lakers with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and two steals across 35 minutes. Jones failed to have a significant impact in the loss, delivering serviceable contributions on both ends of the floor. Tuesday's loss will now see the Pelicans having to suit up Friday, where they will face either the Kings or the Warriors. Although Jones is a key piece for New Orleans, his production is something that typically fluctuates in both fantasy and reality.
Goes for 15 points Friday

Jones produced 15 points (6-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and three steals over 38 minutes during Friday's 111-109 loss to San Antonio. Jones finished with a solid performance Friday despite the loss, and he was able to contribute on both ends of the court with decent numbers in categories such as assists and steals. Jones has been a consistent do-it-all weapon for the Pelicans of late, averaging 11.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game since the All-Star break.
Shown walking papers in loss

Jones was ejected from Wednesday's 117-108 loss to the Magic after totaling six points (2-5 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one assist and one steal in 41 minutes. Jones was unproductive during 41 minutes of playing time before being ejected alongside Dyson Daniels and Trey Murphy. The ejection came with only seven seconds remaining and was another example of a referee doing wrong by the players. Jones will not miss any time as a result of the ejection and should be good to go against the Spurs on Friday.
Struggles with shot

Jones supplied 16 points (4-12 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 6-6 FT), two rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 119-112 loss to the Thunder. Jones' primary responsibility Tuesday was slowing down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (24 points, 9-20 FG), although going cold from beyond the arc stagnated the Pelicans' offense down the stretch. That said, Jones knocking down 42.5 percent of 3.5 threes per game this season appears sustainable, as the 25-year-old is making 41.9 percent of his guarded attempts.
Three rejections in return

Jones closed Tuesday's 104-91 win over the Nets with 11 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, three assists and three blocks over 34 minutes. After missing the Pelicans' prior game due to a hip/back bruise, Jones looked pretty healthy as he racked up three blocks for the third time in his last four contests. However, the third-year forward has seen his shot volume shrink in March, and through seven games on the month, he's averaging 7.9 points, 2.9 assists, 2.7 boards, 1.6 blocks, 1.4 threes and 1.3 steals despite shooting 54.1 percent from the floor.
Good to go against Brooklyn

Jones (hip/back) is available for Tuesday's game versus the Nets, Christian Clark of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Jones will return to action Tuesday after missing New Orleans' previous contest due to a contusion to his lower back/hip. He should replace Trey Murphy in the starting lineup against Brooklyn. Jones is averaging 10.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in 31.9 minutes across his last 10 outings.
Probable for Tuesday

Jones (hip/back) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Nets. This is an expected injury designation, as Jones was able to practice in full Monday after missing Saturday's game versus Portland. If he gets through warmups without any setbacks, he'll likely be right back in the starting lineup, with Trey Murphy moving to the bench.
Goes through practice
![Team logo](https://cdn.statically.io/img/heavy.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/new-orleans-pelicans-logo.png?w=150)
Jones (hip) was able to go through a full practice Monday, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports. Jones didn't play Saturday against Portland after tweaking his hip and back after a fall during Friday's win over the Clippers. It sounds like he's trending in the right direction for Tuesday against the Nets, but there should be more clarity when the Pelicans release their injury report Monday evening.
