Mills won't start Sunday's game against the Wizards. Mills made five straight starts for the shorthanded Heat, averaging 8.6 points on 38.5 percent shooting during that stretch. However, Duncan Robinson (back) has been cleared to return and will reclaim his spot in the starting lineup.
Misses seven threes vs. Cavs
Mills tallied 10 points (3-11 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound, four assists and two steals over 25 minutes in Wednesday's 107-104 win over Cleveland. Mills has been a three-point specialist during his 15-year tenure in the NBA, but the Australian guard has gone 3-for-31 from beyond the arc over his last six outings. He got the start Wednesday with Duncan Robinson (back) out, but Mills would return to the bench if the former returns. Given Mills' recent struggles from three, head coach Erik Spoelstra could also insert Jaime Jaquez back into the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Pelicans if Robinson is unable to suit up.

Mills will enter the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cavaliers. Mills will move into the starting lineup in Duncan Robinson's (back) absence and should be good for some points and triples in the starting role. However, he typically doesn't bring much else to the stat sheet. He's just a low-end option in deep leagues.
Struggles off bench Wednesday
Mills had two points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists and one steal across 14 minutes during Wednesday's 100-88 loss to Denver. Mills wasn't able to connect on his three shots from beyond the arc Wednesday. He's gone 1-for-7 from three over his last two games in limited time off the bench. Mills will look to get his shooting stroke back Friday in the first game of a home-and-home series against the Pistons.
Scores 13 points in limited minutes
Mills supplied 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt) and two rebounds across 16 minutes during Friday's 107-100 loss to the Thunder. Mills doesn't carry a lot of fantasy upside due to his minimal role off the bench, but he made his presence felt Friday, missing just two shots from the field and registering double-digit points despite logging just 16 minutes. Mills is expected to see minor minutes off the bench going forward, and while this outing was a successful one, he's better suited to remain on the wire in most formats.
Signing with Miami
Mills has agreed to a deal with Miami on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Mills signing with Miami for the rest of the season adds another veteran guard to a backcourt rotation, joining fellow new addition Delon Wright. Tyler Herro (knee) and Josh Richardson (shoulder) are amid multi-game absences for the Heat, but Mills likely profiles as third-string depth given his defensive limitations. The 35-year-old exceeded 10 minutes of action on nine occasions for the Hawks this season, yielding 4.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists on 39.5 percent shooting from the field.
Heads to buyout market
The Hawks will waive Mills on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Mills has appeared in just 19 of the Hawks' 58 games this season, but he's been a productive perimeter threat despite his inconsistent playing time. He's knocked down 13 of his 34 three-point attempts on the season, good for a 37.3 percent rate. As he heads to the open market, the 35-year-old could have some appeal for a contending club in search of adding some shooting to its bench, but Mills is unlikely to surface as a regular rotation player no matter where he lands.
