Peterson agreed to a two-way contract with the Celtics on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Peterson was recently made a restricted free agent after Boston extended him a qualifying offer, and he's set to remain with the Celtics on a two-way deal that will allow him to move between the G League and parent club easily. Over 34 regular-season appearances with the G League's Maine Celtics last year, he averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 35.4 minutes per game.

Latest Celtics News
Drew Peterson : Lands two-way deal
Peterson agreed to a two-way contract with the Celtics on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. Peterson was recently made a restricted free agent after Boston extended him a qualifying offer, and he's set to remain with the Celtics on a two-way deal that will allow him to move between the G League and parent club easily. Over 34 regular-season appearances with the G League's Maine Celtics last year, he averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 35.4 minutes per game.
Xavier Tillman : Intends to reunite with Boston
Tillman agreed to a two-year deal with the Celtics on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Tillman stepped up in Kristaps Porzingis' (foot) absence throughout the 2023-24 NBA Playoffs, and the former will return to the club as they aim to repeat their success from last year. The Celtics acquired Tillman via trade with the Grizzlies on Feb. 7, and he went on to average 4.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists across 13.7 minutes in 20 regular-season appearances with Boston.
Jayson Tatum : Agrees to historic extension
Tatum and the Celtics agreed to a five-year, $315 million supermax extension with a player option Monday, Chris Haynes of Turner Sports reports. Tatum didn't win Eastern Conference Finals MVP or Finals MVP but was arguably the Celtics' best player during their championship run and has been rewarded with the largest contract in NBA history. He's still just 26 years old, and on top of being an NBA champion, Tatum has been named to three All-NBA First Teams and five All-Star Games, winning the 2023 All-Star Game MVP. The Celtics have Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday locked in long term and are the early favorites to win the 2024-25 championship.
Derrick White : Agrees to four-year extension
White and the Celtics agreed to a four-year, $125.9 million extension Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. Retaining White was the top priority for the Celtics coming into the offseason, and they acted quickly to get this done. Included in this deal is a player option for the final year of the deal. White was instrumental on both sides of the ball during Boston's championship run, averaging 15.2 points, 5.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 1.0 steals and 2.7 three-pointers.
Neemias Queta : Slated to return to Boston
Queta agreed Sunday to a multi-year deal with the Celtics, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. The Celtics declined Queta's $2.2 million team option for 2024-25 on Saturday, but the team had been eager to bring him back as an unrestricted free agent if the price was right. Queta perhaps quickly assessed his options on the open market and ultimately agreed to stick around in Boston. Though he was largely outside of Boston's rotation in 2023-24 while spending most of the season as a two-way player, Queta produced well when called upon, averaging 5.5 points and 4.4 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per game. The Celtics should have room for at least one of Queta or Luke Kornet in the rotation in the early part of the season as a primary backup to Al Horford, as Kristaps Porzingis (foot) likely won't be ready to play in at least the first handful of games.
Luke Kornet : Returning to Boston
Kornet agreed to a one-year deal with the Celtics on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Kornet bounced back during his second full season with the Celtics in 2023-24, averaging 5.3 points and 4.1 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game over 63 regular-season appearances. The 28-year-old will remain with the Celtics for the 2024-25 campaign and will likely be in store for a similar role as a depth option in the frontcourt, though he might get a little extra run while Kristaps Porzingis recovers from a foot injury.
Drew Peterson : Will become restricted free agent
The Celtics extended a qualifying offer to Peterson on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. The Celtics did the same for Neemias Queta, giving the organization the option to match opposing offers in free agency. Peterson made just three appearances for the Celtics in 2024-25, playing 7.7 minutes per contest.
Neemias Queta : Becomes restricted free agent
The Celtics extended a qualifying offer to Queta on Saturday, making him a restricted free agent, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. The Celtics will have the ability to match opposing offers in free agency with this move. Queta was a fringe rotation player in 2023-24, averaging 5.5 points and 4.4 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per contest.
