The Official Account of Rajasthan Royals - the inaugural IPL Champions!

About us

Champions of the inaugural IPL season (2008), finalists of the 2013 Champions League T20 and the 2022 IPL season, Rajasthan Royals are a cricket franchise from the state of Rajasthan, India, with the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur being our home ground. At the Royals, our mission is to “Transform Society through Cricket, Transform Cricket through Innovation”. We are a global sports franchise that believes royalty is not something one inherits, but something one earns. It is this spirit that has led the Royals to discover, nurture and promote young and upcoming talent in India and around the world ever since 2008 through our first team, and our endeavours at the Rajasthan Royals Cricket Academy, with five academies across India, the UAE and the UK, and a High-Performance Training Centre in Nagpur. Through our social equity arm, the Royal Rajasthan Foundation, we are also focused on enabling organisations working with empowered women in our home state with grants and mentorship. And through our certified courses at the Royals School of Business - our online education platform - we're on a mission to help aspiring and existing sports professionals take the next step in their dream careers. The Royals are rightly known as a 'team of firsts' for our innovative and pioneering approach, whether through our 'Moneyball' approach in IPL auctions, early adoption of data and analytics, or our innovative approach to the world of digital and business.

Last year, we made a commitment at the Rajasthan Royals Cricket Cup to a cause close to our hearts. 💗 For every boundary scored by the U19 girls in the tournament final, the Royals would light up a rural home in Rajasthan with solar power through the Royal Rajasthan Foundation. We took that commitment to this year’s IPL in our match against RCB as part of our #PinkPromise, where our Title Sponsor Luminous Power Technologies (P) Ltd joined us in our bid to power these households. ☀️ This week, we took the next step towards fulfilling our promise by enabling the solar electrification of the first 100 homes in the Sambhar region, with 200 more in the pipeline. The event also celebrated five years of our Foundation through a special sapling distribution drive where 27,000 saplings were distributed to 420 empowered women. 🌱 Over the years, the Foundation’s relentless efforts in rural Rajasthan have led us to: => Enabling 70,000 empowered women with access to water, energy, and sustainable livelihoods => Building 250+ rainwater harvesting structures => Planting 90,000+ native Khejri and fruit-bearing trees => Training 2 women as barefoot solar engineers, who are now equipping 100 households with solar lighting systems => Conducting 100+ training sessions on mental health, sustainable agriculture, horticulture, and water management => Offering Shakti Leadership Training to 20 women At the Royals, our #PinkPromise continues to be much more than just a promise, both on and off the field. 🤝 Bindi International Gram Chetna Kendra

Happy Birthday to our Chairperson at Rajasthan Royals, and Founding Member of the Royal Rajasthan Foundation, the ever-smiling Ranjit Barthakur. 🎂 Ranjit’s unwavering determination to drive socio-economic and environmental change through cricket inspires everything we do at the Royals. From playing our carbon-neutral game in 2022 to bringing the #PinkPromise initiative this IPL season, his vision has been the guiding force behind our efforts to drive sustainability-led change in the country. It was also his passion for the game and belief in its transformative power that helped us bring the IPL to North East India for the first time in 2023 to a heartwarming response from excited cricket fans. As one of the franchise's strongest pillars, Ranjit’s treasure trove of experience continues to guide us in our quest to transform society through cricket. Here's to many more years of inspiring change and making a difference. 🙌

Yesterday, the Royals management team had an incredible day in Jaipur, connecting and listening to cricket fans here, and diving deep into the rich cricket culture of our beloved home state. Our Official Partner Poornima University facilitated this experience on their buzzing campus, where we met enthusiastic students who share our passion for the game and the Royals on the field. A special highlight of the day was our Chief Executive Officer Jake Lush McCrum delivering an inspiring speech to the newly inducted batch of 2024, sharing invaluable insights on what it takes to run an IPL franchise, followed by an engaging Q&A session with the students. Their curiosity and enthusiasm were truly energising as they left with some helpful takeaways in their journey to building a career path: => Failing is okay (and important) as long as you keep learning => Persistence and perseverance will take you a long way => Focus on inputs over outputs => Build relationships and your network at an early stage, they matter in the long run => Throw yourself into everything you do and HAVE FUN! At the Royals, we cherish these opportunities to connect with our fans and understand their love for cricket, as we continue to strive towards creating memorable fan experiences, not just during the season but throughout the year. 💗
