Displaying Featured Images in WP Admin Post List

Jetpack’s Post List feature allows you to easily view the featured images from your posts and pages right in the WP Admin. This visual cue can be a great time-saver and improve your content management experience.

How to Activate the Post List Feature

This feature is deactivated by default. To activate it, you can follow the steps:

  1. Navigate to Jetpack → Settings in your WP Admin.
  2. Click Modules placed at the bottom of the page.
  3. In the right sidebar, locate the search module and enter “Post List” into the search field.
  4. When the Post List module appears, click the Activate button to enable the feature.

Before Activation

Below is a screenshot of the WP Admin Post List prior to activating the Post List feature. Note that the thumbnails for featured images are not displayed:

After activating the feature, the screenshot below shows how featured images are now included in the Post List, providing a visual reference for each post.

Restoring Category and Tag Columns in the WP Admin Post List

When you activate the Post List feature, you may notice that certain columns, such as Categories and Tags, may no longer be visible in the Post view. To restore these columns, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Posts → All Posts in your WP Admin to view your list of articles.
  2. Click on the Screen Options button at the top right of the page. This will reveal a drop-down menu with additional display options.
  3. In the drop-down module under the Columns section, locate and check the boxes for Categories and Tags to re-display these columns in the Post list.
