On July 12, 2024, Nabtesco Automotive Products (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Nabtesco Power Control (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Nabtesco Service Southeast Asia Co., Ltd. planted mangrove trees on the mudflats of the Bamboo Environmental Education Center in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand.   Mangroves are a generic name for plants that inhabit the intertidal zone where seawater and freshwater mix, and they are expected to help purify seawater, maintain and restore the ecosystem, prevent natural disasters, and mitigate global warming.   This activity started in 2013 with the aim of interacting with local communities and contributing to solving local environmental issues.   The tree-planting activity was suspended in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it resumed this year for the first time in four years, with a total of 220 participants planting 1,000 saplings. This brings the total number of saplings planted to 9,025!   The Nabtesco Group will continue to contribute to global environmental protection and CO2 reduction (GHG reduction) through mangrove planting activities and various other initiatives.   #Sustainability #Environment #SDGs

Nabtesco Implements Inclusive Education Classes in Japanese Elementary Schools! Nabtesco, in partnership with the Japan Inclusive Football Federation (JIFF) , has been visiting Japanese elementary schools to implement the JIFF Inclusive Education Program. The program aims to learn empathy and encourage creativity through dialogue and experiences with disability soccer players, targeting elementary and middle school students. It introduces the unique tools, rules, and skills of disability sports and football, as well as practical adaptations for daily life, in order to break down mental barriers towards people with disabilities and promote an inclusive society.   As part of this initiative, Nabtesco's group company, Nabtesco Automotive, dispatched Yuki Matsuzaki, a member of the Japan amputee soccer national team, as a lecturer to conduct classes at two elementary schools in Tokyo this year.   The classes included explanations of disability soccer and amputee soccer, discussions about Matsuzaki's daily life and prosthetic leg, and hands-on experience with the crutches used in amputee soccer.   Nabtesco will continue to contribute to the creation of a vibrant inclusive society where each individual's uniqueness is respected through its corporate citizen activities.

Nabtesco has been developing core components of railroad vehicles like brakes, doors, and platform screen doors, supporting railroad infrastructure safety with our high standards.   In 2023, together with the JR West Group, we succeeded in completing the world-first platform screen door unit.   Installed at Osaka Station, these full-height, all-glass movable doors can adjust to trains with varying door positions, enabling seamless passenger boarding and disembarking. Awarded the Highest Rating from #CDP in Two Environmental Fields Inclusion    Nabtesco has been awarded the highest rating and selected for inclusion in "the Supplier #Engagement Leaderboard 2023" in the Supplier Engagement Evaluation by CDP (※).   We have also been included in the Climate Change A List for fiscal year 2023, which means that it has thus been awarded the highest rating from CDP in two environmental fields for five consecutive years since 2019. Nabtesco has been promoting environmental management in a broad manner to reduce its environmental impact. In particular, we regard carbon-free measures, which have a large financial impact, as one of the top priority among its issues of management materiality.   We have been conducting energy conservation initiatives, including introducing highly efficient equipment at each production base and fostering the construction and rebuilding of plant facilities to make them more environmentally advanced. Additionally, we are promoting various energy creation activities, such as solar power generation. We are also actively engaged in sharing CO2 reduction methods with suppliers and supporting the setting of voluntary reduction targets. Going forward, Nabtesco will continue to conduct a range of initiatives to solve various environmental and social issues toward the creation of a #sustainable society.   ※CDP represents more than 740 institutional investors around the world, who manage assets totaling 136 trillion US dollars. Received orders for brake systems and door operating systems for Indonesian national railways   Nabtesco Oclap S.r.l, our group company located in Italy, received orders from the Indonesian state-owned vehicle manufacturer (PT Industri Kereta Api) for brake systems and door operating systems for Indonesian national commuter railway company (PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia).   This order is to supply brake systems and door operating systems for new railways (192 railcars) operated by PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia.   In the railroad vehicle equipment business, Nabtesco’s main products are brake systems for railroad vehicles and door openers for railroad vehicles, which are used in railroad vehicles around the world.   Through this order, the Nabtesco Group will continue its efforts to further deepen its cooperative relationship with Indonesian customers and expand its business.   By providing highly safe and reliable products, we will continue to contribute to the safe and on-time operation of railroad transportation systems.
