Julie Sugar’s journalism, nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in outlets such as the Forward, Lilith Magazine, Kveller, Modern Loss, and Jewish Review of Books. She studied playwriting at Hunter College under playwright Tina Howe, and has an MFA in Creative Writing (focusing on creative nonfiction and literary translation) from Antioch University – Los Angeles. The daughter of Hungarian immigrants, she has lived in many places and is now happily based in Chicago.
