Longlegs 2024
Such a wild swing that I can’t help but feel a little bit in love with the confidence it has in Cage’s performance and entire appearance. It shouldn’t work as well as it does. I was pretty scared for a fair amount of the runtime. There’s the same air of unease found in CURE so I was always gonna go crazy for that.
Side note it’s very funny the general public are being tricked into seeing something this weird, love it when that happens.

Oh hell fucking yes. I had no idea what kind of film this was going to be and when it all clicks into place I had my sicko smile on right up to closing credits. I can’t believe this doesn’t have a bigger following, I’d only heard it whispered about online. I hope Longlegs gets people going back and discovering this nasty little gem.

Listen. There’s AI all over this in the cutaways and “we’ll be right back” network messages. For this reason I can’t enjoy the amazing performances and clever ending. It actually feels insulting when that skeleton message shows up repeatedly, like the filmmakers don’t give a shit and want to let you know that you’ll accept blatant AI in your 70s period piece. Don’t let this be the start of accepting this shit in your entertainment.
Edit: it really does suck being the only one ready to complain about this. Be more mad if movies are your passion.
