Metropolis 2001
Not exactly sure how to rate this. On the one hand there are about 20 different themes and plot beats I wish the film could handle differently.
On the other hand, the last 15 minutes of this movie were so potent for me I spent the next 15 bawling my eyes out.
Also the film is stunning throughout, like how does it look this good the whole way through. Uncompromising, unpolished but extremely potent to my sensibilities.
