Look I’ve got nothing against long empty stretches of nothing happening but when they’re in interesting films they have a way of kinda filling up with meaning and I don’t think there actually is any meaning here, beyond playing with tropes. It’s like if Cabin in the Woods thought it was an art film. It’s an interesting vibe and some of the deaths are effective, although the film has a weird habit of building up long suspenseful takes and then killing the tension by cutting at just the wrong time. Ending is a massive damp squib.
