I personally love this place. Great spot for drunk late night eats on Bourbon. Usually locals are the ones you find here after a certain time. It is a greasy spoon diner emphasis on the greasy. Would I ever come here in the sober light of day? Probably not. But that's not the point of Clover Grill. If you have to use the restroom, you're about to go on a whole adventure, friend. But if you just sit tight, the service is no nonsense and speedy. They are grinding in here. I appreciate the hustle.
Prices aren't bad. No cash accepted! Only card/mobile pay.
Most importantly: they have a touch tunes. Use this information however you see fit.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Zack S.Vancouver, WA9313037Jun 2, 20241 check-in
what can be expected of a place that is open 24/7? what exactly is the standard, does the standard need to be lived up to? my checklist of a place like this is often as follows:
1. are you in some way shape or form giving the impression that you have been checked by OSHA in the last 5 years
2. is your food cheap enough that if i walk in hammered and order an absurd amount of food that i will not look at my credit card statement the next morning with shock and dismay
3. most importantly... is there GREASE????
this is the kind of place that makes me want to beg jonathan yelp for half star ratings. this is the definition of a 3.5/5 spot. because yes... it checks these boxes, mostly. (a little on the expensive side, but we're in the french quarter.) it's doing these things at the absolute bare minimum in my opinion. there's nothing new here... nothing i haven't seen before. yes, that is what the establishment is and what it will continue to be. that's okay. but i came in looking for the hype that had been given to me for the spot... and it's okay. but i came here at 5:30pm, and for that i'm sorry. i promise i will give you another shot when i am drunk out of my mind at 1:30am looking for solace. i know you will provide it, and for that, i thank you.
TL;DR: probably osha compliant, okay prices, VERY greasy food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - sarah c.Canyon Lake, TX2616Feb 26, 2024
Breakfast Burger. Just do it. It's a tiny place and not the fastest ever (you can see them making your food after you order it), but... BREAKFAST BURGER. After a long night in the Quarter, it's pretty much the only cure.
Note: They don't serve alcohol, but you can walk to the bar across the street & bring your to-go drinks into the diner with you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark B.San Rafael, CA0106Aug 5, 2024
As others have written it does have a vibe to it, but it serves a solid breakfast at a reasonable price. It is also open at 0800 which in New Orleans is not easy to find. I had the breakfast special. Very filling. The waitress was friendly and efficient.

Great little diner in the middle of Bourbon street with fresh cooked food. Great for burgers and breakfast. No cash, only credit cards. The food was tasty and the staff were excellent. It can get busy so be patient. One of the only places that the music was quiet enough that you could actually hear what was going on.
The breakfast burger was cooked medium, and came out to the table with hash browns on top with bacon and an egg, yummy. I ordered some hash browns on the side and they were crunchy and delicious.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 23, 2024
The food may not have been a Michelin-starred masterpiece, but hey, it's a small locally owned diner, not a five-star restaurant. And while you may not get your food in ten minutes, at least the service is decent. And let's be real, if you're looking for an Applebee's experience, go to Applebee's and stop hogging the table at this gem of a diner. As a bonus, Clover's hangover relief is probably better than any fancy dish they could serve up anyway. Cheers to realistic expectations and leaving room for someone who appreciates good local grub!

Stopped here on the late night for a burger since they are one of few spots either food 24/7. I read through plenty of the reviews so I had mixed expectations.
First, the breakfast burger was spot on. Delicious. It's a thick patty, grilled fresh. They come one temperature. I'm a medium gal and this was well done, but it wasn't lacking. Burger was tender, not tough or dry. The toppings were perfectly balanced. I added cheese, which I'm kinda shocked it didn't come with. Cost me $1.49 which is ridiculous, but I didn't ask ahead of time so it is what it is.
The grill is right behind the bar top, so you can see the cook as he prepares the food. He is good at his job. The neatness and attention to detail as he single handily made every order was all skill. My burger was excellent and worth the wait. Cause you will wait.
There was only one person taking orders and running the food. He was very observant, though he seemed to avoid eye contact so you wouldn't question how long it's going to take to be acknowledged. But, soon as he took care of one table, he went to the next table in "queue" -- and was overall pleasant enough. It's Christmas and you are a one man team, I'd extend some grace.
I did see two tables get up and leave because of the slow service and that's unfortunate all around cause the food is fresh (as in made to order) and good. Calling it a "greasy spoon" is not how I'd describe it cause it's not greasy in my opinion.
Prices were mostly fair though after tip I spent $21...and some change...on one burger. It is what it is.
Three stars because it's 24/7, made to order, and the overall best option if you want diner food. But the service can use improvement. You have a reputation that's promoted enough to where you should want to have someone else on staff that can help when business is busy. Every negative review on service I can see having took place. So for there to be no improvement is a turn off.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 15, 2024
Probably the best deal of a meal you'll get in all of the quarter. A whole omelette with toast and hash for like 12 dollars. It was good and greasy too. It's a little small but clean which is rare for bourbon street. It does not accept cash so be aware of that. Quick service as well, and just seat wherever

It's been years but it's great to be back. This French Quarter gem available 24/7. Small menu, all fresh. Got the daily breakfast special. Yummy!!!! Quick service, laid back, thank you Jordan and Clover Grill peeps.
