Donald Glover has unveiled the trailer for Bando Stone and the New World, his new film directed and created under his stage name Childish Gambino.

The trailer sees Glover as a oblivious, happy-go-lucky musician who finds himself in a post-apocalyptic dystopia. He encounters a woman (played by Jessica Allain) and a child, and the trio works together to survive in this new world, where people are nowhere to be found but all sorts of otherworldly threats are abundant.

It's Glover's first feature film directorial debut, but he's already directed episodes of his series Atlanta, which he also created alongside his brother Stephen Glover, and stars in. Glover collaborated with Atlanta director Hiro Murai and Stephen Glover on 2019's Guava Island, a musical film with Glover starring alongside Rihanna. The film was first shown at Coachella where he performed.

Bando Stone and the New World doesn't currently have a release date, but the film does feature an original new soundtrack by Childish Gambino himself, which is sure to delight fans who've been listening to his fifth album Atavista, released in May.
