The UFC’s Independence Day pay-per-view just got a little bit bigger, and the speculation on who Ronda Rousey will fight next can be put to rest.

Rousey (9-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC), the UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion, will defend her title against Alexis Davis (16-5 MMA, 3-0 UFC) at UFC 175 in July. UFC President Dana White announced the new booking late Friday.

UFC 175 takes place July 5 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The main event currently slotted for that show is a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida. The Rousey-Davis fight presumably takes the co-main event slot. Also recently moved to the now blockbuster show is a grudge match between Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva.

Rousey will make the third defense of her title, again in a fairly fast turnaround. In late February, she picked up a first-round TKO win over Sara McMann at UFC 170, needing just 66 seconds for her first non-submission win.

Prior to that, the Olympic medalist stopped Miesha Tate in the third round at UFC 168 in December and submitted Liz Carmouche in her promotional debut at UFC 157. The first eight wins of Rousey’s career all came by first-round armbar.

Since beating McMann in UFC 170’s main event, Rousey has been keeping busy with her budding acting career, filming a role on the “Entourage” movie.

Davis has won five straight fights, including her first three in the UFC. In her debut at UFC 161 this past June, she took a decision from Rosi Sexton in her native Canada. At the UFC’s third “Fight for the Troops” show, she beat recent title challenger Carmouche. And at UFC 170, she took a split decision from Jessica Eye, a win that wound up getting her a title shot.

Prior to signing with the UFC, Davis went 2-1 under the Strikeforce banner and 2-0 for Invicta.
