THE ESSENCE OF THE MASS
It is Christ re-presentation, in a sacramental way, of the One-All-Sufficient Sacrifice which He made of Himself in a bloody manner, on the Cross of Calvary.
Under the appearance of bread and wine, is the climax of Christ offering of Himself when the last drops of His Precious Blood drained from His Sacred Body, bowed His head and died to atone for the sins of men.
It is the highest worship that we can pay to God. In fact, the highest form of prayer where we adore Him, ask for His pardon, beg for His graces but above all, thank Him.
Everytime the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered with the faithful, the redeeming sacrifice of Christ is renewed and proclaimed. And will continue to be so, until the end of the world.
