Christmas Gift To Me

Anglican Christmas Blessing The Nativity of Our Lord:

Christmas Day O God, who hast caused this holy night to shine with the illumination of the true Light:

Grant us, we beseech thee, that as we have known the mystery of that Light upon earth, so may we also perfectly enjoy him in heaven;

where with thee and the Holy Spirit he liveth and reigneth, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

“The Virgin longed for Him with love beyond all telling.” From the preface 2 of Advent in the Missal. Father Mark Goring asked about this yesterday in his yourube video.

I was actually thinking about this yesterday as I drove to Holy Mass, how I have no words for the Love of our God who is PURE LOVE…it truly is beyond all telling..beyong all words or thoughts.

Sometimes I’m so overwhelmed by the greatness of what I’m receiving in the Holy Eucharistic Heart of our Triune God that all I can say to Jesus after Communion is

“Forgive me I have no words sweet Jesus…no comprehension”

…just AWE, ADORATION, PROSTRATION, my body and soul TREMBLES and QUIVERS, there are no words just tears and tears of deepest gratitude every single time I receive Jesus in this Holy Union between His Majestic Soul and my small weak soul!!!!

The Holy Birth of Jesus happens at every Holy Communion, Jesus is born into my heart, mind, body, blood and soul! I’m a walking Nativity…I carry within me the Holy Family….Baby Jésus, belle Maman Marie et cher Papa Joseph…O how I desire to love them as they deserve to be loved!!!
With all my heart I return to visit them to spend time with them interiorly throughout the day, recollected prostrate at their feet…with a love in my soul for them beyond all telling!

A Prayer to Keep Christmas Simple

Dear Lord, don’t let us miss You this Christmas season
Help us to simplify our activities and traditions so we can focus our celebration on Your birth.
Thank You for being the Prince of Peace, and I ask You for that supernatural peace to reign in our hearts.
Thank You for the simple but life-changing message of Your love for us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.~

2. A Prayer to Remember What Christmas is All About

Lord, I thank You for coming to earth so You could redeem me.
When I think of the extent to which You were willing to go in order to save me, it makes me want to shout, to celebrate, and to cry with thankfulness.
You love me so much, and I am so grateful for that love. Without You, I would still be lost and in sin.
But because of everything You have done for me, today I am free; my life is blessed; Jesus is my Lord; Heaven is my home; and Satan has no right to control me.
I will be eternally thankful to You for everything You did to save me! I pray this in Jesus’ name!
~

5. Christmas Long Ago

Frosty days and ice-still nights, Fir trees trimmed with tiny lights, Sound of sleigh bells in the snow that was Christmas long ago.
Tykes on sleds and shouts of glee, Icy-window filigree, Sugarplums and candle glow, Part of Christmas long ago.
Footsteps stealthy on the stair, Sweet-voiced carols in the air, stocking hanging in a row, Tell of Christmas long ago.
Starry nights so still and blue, Good friends calling out to you, Life, so fact, will always slow… for dreams of Christmas long ago.

A Christmas Prayer

Give us, O God
Give us, O God, the vision which can see your love in the world in spite of human failure.
Give us the faith to trust your go

odness in spite of our ignorance and weakness.
Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts.
And show us what each one of us can do to set forward the coming of the day of universal peace.

A Prayer for Christmas Morning
The day of joy returns, Father in Heaven and crowns another year with peace and good will.

Help us rightly to remember the birth of Jesus that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds and the worship of the wise men.

Close the doors of hate and open the doors of love all over the world and
Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil by the blessing that Christ brings and teach us to be merry with clean hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children
And the Christmas evening bring us to our bed with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.
**Amen**

Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.

Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
