Welcome to the world of ¡Suerte!, a short film shot entirely on iPhone 15 Pro, which follows Ivan Cornejo as he reconnects with his Mexican roots in order to find the inspiration for a brand-new hit. The film’s soundtrack spotlights “Intercambio Injusto,” a subtle ballad marked by Cornejo’s powerful delivery. Additional songs by Camilo Lara’s Mexican Institute of Sound add a delicate touch to the soundtrack. “La loteria con el mismísimo Diablo” (“The lotería with none other than the Devil”) is the short film’s key track, based on the Mexican card game. “I wanted to create a sonic lotería, giving a surreal touch to the sounds that Mexican people can relate to,” says Lara. And don’t miss the dreamy “Un túnel de revelaciones” and “Ese pescado sabe cosas,” two more tracks by Lara that merge the corrido aesthetic with the surreal textures of neo-psychedelia.
