On Sunday an interesting and cryptic video reel dropped across various social media accounts, keeping runners at the edge of their seats. But the wait wasn’t long, the announcement came yesterday of a new international trail race series, the World Trail Majors.

The series is presented as “an association of 9 unique races, each embodying its own diversity, identity, evolution, and territory. Together, we aspire to be trailblazers, fostering a Trail Running World that is diverse, respectful, sustainable, and independent.” Akin to the world marathon majors, the rise of a new international trail series is drawing excitement and curiosity from runners around the world.
