Tommy Pham was prepared to ‘f–k somebody up’ after heated White Sox-Brewers incident at plate

Tommy Pham isn’t a man to be messed with.

Just ask Joc Pederson

But on Sunday, it was William Contreras who ignited the rage of Pham and had the MLB veteran sounding like a professional wrestler cutting a promo when he met with the media following the White Sox’s latest loss to the Brewers

With two outs in the top of the eighth and the White Sox down 4-3, Pham was sent to home to try and score the tying run, but the throw to the plate easily beat Pham and Contreras tagged him out, celebrating intensely as he walked to the Milwaukee dugout.

That didn’t sit well with Pham, who immediately fired right back at Contreras verbally, to the point the ump and then his team had to restrain him.

While the scene on the field didn’t extend beyond Pham continuing to bark at the Brewers, after the game when he was asked about the incident he provided reporters a firey response.

“I’m nailed out at home by a mile, I’m going to the dugout and I hear the tough guy with all the hoo-rah s–t,” Pham said. “I’m never starting anything, but I’ll be prepared to finish it. There’s a reason I do all kinds of fighting in the offseason. Because I’m prepared to f–k somebody up.”

“You can take it as what it is,” Pham added before walking away

The whole incident had no impact on the final outcome of the game as the White Sox’s miserable season trekked on with a 6-3 loss to the Brewers to drop to 15-45 on the year.

The Brewers completed the series sweep of the White Sox, and for his part, Contreras was unphased by Pham’s outburst.

“I wasn’t really paying attention to what he had to say,” Contreras told reporters. “I was just excited about the play and went back to the dugout.”

Pham famously slapped Pederson back in 2022 during batting practice before a game between the Giants and Reds, the two players’ respective teams at the time.

The beef stemmed from a fantasy football chat group.
