Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla shows off NBA Finals trophy while waltzing around Boston

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla wanted Boston fans to take a look at the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy before Friday’s celebratory parade.

The 35-year-old coach — whose Celtics clinched the NBA title with a Game 5 win over the Mavericks in Boston on Monday night — was caught on video walking with the championship trophy in the North End of Boston on Wednesday night.

He let fans and famous restauranteurs touch the trophy, according to the Boston Globe.

An onlooker yelled out to him, “Coach, how much do you like the North End?”

He answered, “I like the city of Boston.”

The reply drew a “Yeeessss! Thank you so much” from the questioner.

This came a day after Mazzulla celebrated with his players in Miami.

Mazzulla has definitely been appreciated now that he’s a coach of an NBA title-winning team.

Late into the night and early morning after their Game 5 win, the second-year Celtics coach and his wife, Camai, held hands while strolling through the empty TD Garden, where green and white confetti covered the court.

It was around 3:20 a.m., according to the Boston Herald.

If Mazzulla likes Boston, the city now loves him after he led the Celtics to its first NBA title since 2008.

The Celtics now have the most championships in the NBA with 18, one ahead of the rival Lakers.
