Posh NYC club frequented by Eric Adams boots conservative member over ‘homophobic’ Father’s Day post
This place has zero tolerance.
A conservative journalist said she was “blindsided” when a posh members-only club in NoHo frequented by Mayor Eric Adams booted her for posting a controversial Father’s Day screed about gender on social media.
“They literally said, ‘We’re kicking you out because of your politics,’” said Caitlin Sinclair, of the celeb-packed Zero Bond, where the likes of Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson and Tom Brady have been spotted partying.
The “heartbroken” 28-year-old said the club unceremoniously dumped her days after she put up an Instagram message wishing her 28,000 followers a “Happy Father’s Day” while holding a sign reading, “You are here because your dad’s not queer.���
The newly appointed spokesperson for Turning Point Action and communications liaison of Trump PAC MAGA Inc said that it was “100 percent discrimination” when membership manager and “friend” Duncan Menaker later reached out to give her the heave-ho.
He asked her in an email Wednesday to “refrain from using the club” — and then called her to say that her $3,850 annual membership at the Bond Street club was canceled.
“A lot of your beliefs do not align with Zero Bond,” Menaker allegedly told a gobsmacked Sinclair, a former on air reporter for conservative network OANN.
“He said I offended their members. You know what? Their members offend me,” said Sinclair, who showed The Post a “Drag Brunch” event this Sunday at the club’s new rooftop. “There are members there who are huge Trump haters.”
“I was simply stating a fact. We cannot be born without a man and a woman. I’m not saying I don’t support LBGTQ+,” said Sinclair, who noted that she’s friends with Caitlin Jenner. “I have trans and gay friends – I never said anything offensive.”
A club insider, however, accused Sinclair of exaggerating how upset she is, and of trying to cause a controversy to get attention.
“She obviously is doing this to try and get famous,” a source close to the members club said. “She got into Zero Bond so they clearly knew exactly who she was and what her political affiliation was since she’s so public about it. There are many Republican members so Zero Bond is clearly not anti-conservative and for her to make this a political issue as opposed to admitting how disgusting her homophobic comment was, is an embarrassment.”
Sinclair responded to the claims by saying: “They think I’m using getting kicked out of a club to get famous. If I offended anyone, I deeply apologize — that was not my intention.”
She said club founder, Scott Sartiano told her that her beliefs were welcome, telling her at one point, “We need diversity at the club, so we’re glad you’re here.”
But she says that “diversity” does not actually include conservatives.
“They only want diversity when it fits his agenda,” Sinclair said of the “hypocritical” gesture of Sartiano.
“Why are other Zero Bond members allowed to attend pro-Hamas rallies, drag queen story hour and celebrate when Trump gets convicted, but that doesn’t go against Zero Bond policies?” she seethed. She added that she was considering suing.
“A lot of the members there hate Trump and stood in front of the courthouse,” she said without naming who did that. “They’re friends, they’re huge liberals. We can have different views, but we can still be out and party together.”
Sinclair said she’s now left hung out to dry in a sea of humanity, without protection while she parties in the city.
“You’re going to ostracize me — living alone in the city as a single girl?” she said of her one-time sanctuary, where she’s spotted Mayor Adams, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian. “They’re ostracizing me from my community. I paid the money to go to a safe space.”
“Everyone comes to New York to make their dreams come true. I worked my ass off and it happens to be in conservative media. And now I’m punished for it,” she said.
“This is bigger than me, it’s bigger than Zero Bond,” said Sinclair.
“If I went to the club wearing a MAGA hat or holding that sign [from the Father’s Day post], that’s different. But I never once brought my politics inside the club – this was my personal account that I posted on.”
She implored Sartiano to take her back, saying that she wanted him to join her to “help me lead the way to showing our fellow New Yorkers and our fellow Americans that there doesn’t have to be this great divide.”
Despite Sinclair’s complaint of discrimination and threat to sue, Zero Bond said they have no plans to take her back in.
“We stand by our decision to revoke Caitlin’s membership as a result of her public, homophobic Instagram post and not because of her political affiliation,” they said. “It’s also come to our attention that Ms. Sinclair is attempting to exploit our club’s esteemed reputation for personal gain. Other than this her baseless claims do not deserve any further comment.”
Sinclair, meanwhile said she would be looking for a friendlier environment to spend her free time, she said she might try another posh New York hot spot, Casa Cipriani.
“There’s a different set of rules for conservatives in New York,” she said.
