Your next flight upgrade to first class could cost as little as a box of doughnuts — try this hack

This one’s got a glazed ring to it.

A “Love Island” alum recently shared a sweetly ingenious hack she swears can get you upgraded to first class on your next flight.

Antigoni Buxton divulged the advice given to her by a flight attendant she is close with.

“She said if you want to get upgraded, take a box of doughnuts onto a flight for the flight staff,” the reality TV star told Kybe Travel.

“She said, get on the plane and say this is for you, and they will upgrade you whenever they can. I did it once and it worked!”

There could be some truth to the idea — YouTuber Zac Allsop has filmed himself shelling out Starbucks gift cards in exchange for an upgrade from economy to first class in the past.

However, expert Kate Staniforth, head of marketing for Travel Republic, warned against wasting your money, insisting this trick won’t fly.

“Whilst Antigoni claims this hack works, unfortunately in the majority of cases it doesn’t,” she told Yahoo! Travel.

“In some instances, this act of kindness may result in a complimentary drink or snack. However, free upgrades are typically rare occurrences,” she said.

She recommends the conventional practice of intentionally upgrading — and spending the dough to do so — while the flight is still on the ground.

“Check for availability and explore the possibility of an upgrade,” Staniforth suggests. “If you’re looking to upgrade at the airport, approach the airline counter and inquire — arriving early increases your chances of securing an upgrade.”
