A’ja Wilson blasts women’s sports outlet for mocking her Nike logo

Two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson has fired back at the site Just Women’s Sports after it lampooned her new Nike logo in a social media video.

Wilson’s logo was unveiled earlier this week; it was difficult to figure out upon first glance what it was supposed to signify, and a group of several women mocked it in a video the outlet posted on X.

Wilson quickly saw the video and fired back.

“I get ppl are gonna have their opinions and think pieces & that’s all fine and dandy it’s all apart of it but this is lame asf [as f–k] coming from a site that suppose to be for ‘us’ BUTTTTTTT Bet it up!” Wilson wrote on X.

In the Just Women’s Sports video, the group of women was reading a description about how the Wilson Nike logo combined the letter A and a star, and one of the women turned around her phone to show a meme rendering with the logo saying “Ass” — meaning that it was a terrible logo.

“[T]he A collection is about to be so much fun and a great collection for everyone the only ‘Ass’ I see are the ppl apart of this segment,” Wilson wrote in her tweet.

The Just Women’s Sports video was deleted shortly after Wilson’s response, but it was preserved by one of her followers.

Wilson stars on the two-time defending WNBA champion Aces and she is an astounding -350 favorite to win the league MVP award less than halfway through the season according to the latest odds on FanDuel.

This Wilson deal with Nike has had previous controversy, as Caitlin Clark’s partnership with the sneaker and apparel company was announced first.

Wilson posted a bible verse about being patient while others have success, and was accused by Clark’s fans of being jealous of her.

“Lol no one is jealous bookie! I have no reason to be lol I truly Wish all 143 the best fr [for real]!” Wilson wrote in response. “Our league is hard as hell so to thrive and to stay in it consistently.. is huge! So pls stop with this jealousy stuff.”
