LeBron James ecstatic to finally team up with Steph Curry for Olympics: ‘About f–king time’

Stephen Curry has virtually everything.

He has four NBA titles, two MVPs, a Finals MVP, 10 All-Star appearances and he even has two gold medals.

But he doesn’t have two Olympic gold medals.

Curry hasn’t yet represented Team USA in the Olympics, though he has won gold medals with the program from the 2010 and 2014 FIBA World Cups, the last time the Americans have won the competition.

But Curry will now be wearing the red white and blue and at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which LeBron James is particularly excited about.

Team USA posted a video of pleasantries between players and coaches alike as everyone met for pre-Olympic training camp on Friday.

James could be heard saying, “about time,” on a few occasions before exclaiming, “about f–king time” as Curry laughed as the two embraced each other about 24 seconds into the clip.

“Let’s have some fun with it,” Curry replied with a smile.

James is back on the Olympic team for the fourth time in his career and the first since winning gold in 2012.

Previously, James earned a bronze on the 2004 team who famously lost to Puerto Rico in their opening game during the competition and later fell to Lithuania before losing again to Argentina — the eventual gold medal winners — during the semifinals.

Team USA has won four consecutive gold medals in the Olympics ever since.

Joining LeBron and Curry this year are Tokyo returnees Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, as well as Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Tyrese Haliburton and Anthony Davis.

Both Edwards and Haliburton are the only players on the team from the dubious fourth-place 2023 World Cup squad, which managed to qualify for the event, though they lost to Canada in the bronze medal game, their most recent international contest.

Team USA’s first basketball showcase will be on July 10 vs. Team Canada, which also will be one of the 12 teams playing in the Olympics.
