Jerry Rice threatens to ‘f–k up’ reporters over Chiefs question at golf tournament in wild scene

Jerry Rice will not be taking any more questions.

During the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament practice round on Thursday, Rice had a heated altercation with two journalists who approached him.

The two Kansas City-based journalists approached Rice during his golf round and asked if he felt Patrick Mahomes’ wide receivers this year were “good enough to win another Super Bowl.”

Rice initially brushed off the question, and walked away from the journalists.

But, a few seconds later, he decided he had something to say after all.

Warning: Graphic language

The Hall of Famer got in one of the journalists’ faces and clearly said “I will f–k you up,” as heard in a video obtained by TMZ Sports.

While being escorted away from the journalists, Rice called back “if you want some, come get some.”

Rice, 61, told TMZ Sports that he thought the reporters were taking a dig at him because his 49ers lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in February, and he alleged the reporters asked the question while smirking.

“I’m going to defend the San Francisco 49ers,” Rice told the outlet. “This is my history.”

The two Starcade Media employees claimed they had no intention of upsetting Rice with their question.

“We meant absolutely no disrespect to Jerry or the 49ers when asking this question,” they said.

The pair posted on their Facebook page they wanted to know if Kansas City’s 2024 wideout group “had improved enough to continue winning at a high level.”
