Previously, she reported from Moscow for the Los Angeles Times, Rollingstone.com, The Guardian, and other news outlets. She holds a bachelor of arts in political science from Rutgers University and a master of arts in journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. When she's not out pounding the pavement for the Post, she teaches English at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, and spends her work-free time mommying, hiking, and watching documentaries.
