I hate sneakers but I’ve been loving the Cole Haan women’s GrandPro tennis shoes

I hate sneakers. I know it’s in the headline, but I have to emphasize how little I can stand clunky, sporty footwear. It’s just a me thing — I’m aware — but it’s not something I necessarily want to be so picky about. Sneakers exist for a reason and their level of comfort is something my shoe collection seriously lacks. Or lacked, until I discovered the Cole Haan Women’s GrandPrø Tennis Sneakers.

Pros:

  • Comfortable with no initial “break-in” period
  • High-quality flexible leather upper (which barely wrinkles)
  • Cushioned soles
  • Minimalist aesthetic
  • Low profile

Cons:

  • The rubber outer sole does scuff (not easily, but it does)

First off, let’s talk about comfort. From the moment I slipped my feet into these sneakers, I could feel the plush cushioning surrounding my feet. The GrandPrø technology truly lives up to its name, providing ample support and cushioning for long hours of wear. Whether I’m running errands around town or going for a stroll through the streets or even on the beach, my feet feel swaddled and protected.

But, to my honest surprise, comfort isn’t the only thing these sneakers have going for them. They’re also ridiculously good-looking (cue “Zoolander” voice). The sleek design and variety of color options make them easy to pair with any outfit, no matter what I’m doing that day. Plus, the quality leather and attention to detail give these sneakers a luxurious feel that’s hard to beat in my experience.

One thing I particularly appreciate about the GrandPrø tennis sneakers is their versatility. While they’re technically designed for tennis, I’ve found that they’re perfect for so much more. These sneakers have officially become my go-to choice for most occasions. This leads me to my next point…

How we tested

I tested these sneakers by wearing them for a week straight. I wore them in the grime of New York City streets most of the time, but they were also exposed to sandy Long Island beaches and four very wet, playful dogs. Additionally, they withstood my very aggressive, hands-free application over 20 times (a.k.a me wriggling my foot back and forth until the sneaker embraced my heel). After a full week of abuse, this is how they looked:

The verdict

Of course, I’ve since wiped down my GrandPrø sneakers, which only took seconds with a paper towel and water – and because they revealed themselves as like-new, I really can’t recommend the Cole Haan women’s GrandPrø tennis sneakers enough. With its unbeatable combination of comfort, style, and versatility, they’ve quickly become a staple in my collection. Whether you’re a tennis enthusiast or just someone who appreciates a good pair of sneakers, these are definitely worth checking out.
