As the President and his campaign work to convince Democrats he’s fit enough for a second term, Republicans continue to seek more examples of Biden’s age-related fumbles and cognitive decline. House GOP members have even filed a lawsuit to compel the Justice Department to turn over audio tapes of President Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur, who led the Biden classified document investigation. Hur caused a firestorm when he wound up deciding not to recommend charges because he believed a jury would be sympathetic to Biden because he came off as an elderly man with a poor memory. Attorney General Merrick Garland’s refusal to comply sparked a political fight, and the House Republicans voted to hold him in contempt. However, this is far from the first time the legislative branch has butted heads with the DOJ. Recently, FOX News host and former Republican South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy joined host Dave Anthony to weigh in on the legal fight over the Hur tapes and how it compares to past political standoffs. Gowdy discussed his experience in Congress working on the Benghazi and Fast and Furious investigations and the challenges lawmakers have always faced when trying to hold the executive branch accountable. He also commented on the Supreme Court’s recent Trump immunity ruling and expressed his broader concern over how politics is ruining the justice system. The conversation was long, and we could not include all of it in our original FOX News Rundown segment. On the FOX News Rundown Extra, you will hear our entire conversation with Trey Gowdy and hear more of his unique takes on the current political clashes and the ones he experienced firsthand. On the 5th of July, Americans might still be celebrating—what they’re not cheering for is higher prices for their barbecues and cookouts this summer. U.S. Farm Bureau data suggests the price of the July 4th celebration will be 5 percent higher than the last. The Big Money Show co-anchors Taylor Riggs and Brian Brenberg get together to tackle barbecue inflation and summer trends. They discuss the spiking price of red meat at the grocery store, the trend of “Zillow therapy” for pessimistic house hunters, and the ‘Value Menu Wars’ continuing with Taco Bell. A recent FOX News poll shows that Americans are losing confidence in the country’s institutions and becoming less proud of their country. Many blame this trend on the nation's increasing political polarization. Senior counselor at Center View Partners and president emeritus of Council on Foreign Relations, Richard Haas, joins to discuss why he thinks the country is growing more divided, how teaching history and civics can help us unite, and what inspired his book, The Bill of Obligations.  In May, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Xavier Becerra, issued a proposal to create a financial incentive for hospitals that meet a quota of low-income patients seeking a kidney transplant. The Biden administration insists that the system is colorblind, but they emphasize that it aims to address racial disparities in American healthcare. Opponents of the plan argue that hospitals may have the discretion to choose which patients are more "deserving" of a transplant. Mark Meredith, a Washington-based correspondent for FOX News, joins to explain how the plan works and its potential impact on patients waiting for a kidney transplant. Plus, commentary from co-author of 'Stolen Youth' Karol Markowicz. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Both the U.S. national anthem and the flag that inspired the song are major legacies of the War of 1812 when the United States and its allies fought against the United Kingdom to preserve the young country. In September of 1814, British forces attacked Fort McHenry in Baltimore and failed. Watching the battle was Francis Scott Key who was so inspired by the defense of the city and a gigantic forty foot American flag draped over the garrison that he penned the lyrics to the nation's national anthem. FOX’s Tonya J. Powers speaks with Jennifer Jones, Curator and Project Director at the Smithsonian Museum's Division of Military and Society, who takes us through the history of these symbols of the United States and how they are cared for. Part of celebrating America's independence is remembering Americans who've made the ultimate sacrifice and the families they've left behind. One of the charities meant to help them out is Folds of Honor, named for the folded American flag at military funerals. Since 2007, the nonprofit has helped the families of fallen heroes, including giving out 52,000 scholarships to Gold Star spouses and children. Rachel Faulkner-Brown, Director of the Folds of Honor Speakers Bureau, joins to explain how the group helped her family and how the organization aids and empowers other military families. Senior Master Sergeant Israel Del Toro Jr. was serving in the Air Force when he was nearly killed by an IED that left him with burns on over 80% of his body. After a long recovery process, he became the first fully disabled veteran to reenlist in the Air Force. Israel has since become an advocate for wounded veterans across the nation. He shares his incredible journey in his memoir, A Patriot's Promise: Protecting My Brothers, Fighting for My Life, and Keeping My Word. Israel Del Toro Jr. joins the Rundown to discuss how his family strengthened him during the recovery process, talks about his friendship with President George W. It has been just weeks since a Russian Navy flotilla, including nuclear capable submarines and battleships, conducted maneuvers around the island of Cuba, just ninety miles off the coast of Florida. The show of force by Moscow comes at a time where tensions rise between the United State and Russia over the war in Ukraine. While the Pentagon said this was never a worry for them, other national security experts have had their eyebrows raised by the response from Washington. FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Rebekah Koffler, strategic military intelligence analyst and author of the upcoming book 'American Bolsheviks: The Persecution of Donald Trump and the Sovietization of America', about why she feels Russia is always readying for a possible war with the United States but we are lacking the preparation for the same conflict. Following last week's performance at the CNN Presidential Debate, President Biden is struggling to assure skeptical voters he is still fit to be commander in chief. House Republicans are now trying to compel the Justice Department to turn over the audiotapes of the President's interview with special counsel Robert Hur. These GOP lawmakers are claiming that by withholding the tapes, the White House is trying to cover up President Biden's senior moments. Former South Carolina congressman and host of Fox News’ Sunday Night in America, Trey Gowdy, explains why the Republicans voted to hold Attorney General Garland in contempt of Congress and what the consequences may be. Even Democratic leaders cited concerns about the President's poor debate performance, with blue state governors set to speak with the Biden administration this week. Polls conducted since the CNN Presidential Debate show former President Trump gaining ground in the 2024 race. Now, Texas Democrat Rep. Lloyd Doggett has become the first in his party to publicly call for the President to drop out of the race. FOX News contributor and Democratic strategist Leslie Marshall joins to discuss what the President must say to calm the worries at his governors meeting and how Democrats should handle calls for President Biden to bow out of the 2024 race. A big legal win for President Trump on Monday. The Supreme Court ruled presidents have absolute immunity concerning official actions while in office. Yet, no immunity will be awarded for unofficial acts. The federal election interference case brought against former President Donald Trump by special counsel Jack Smith now goes back to the lower courts. Democrats are furious with the high court's decision, arguing that "nobody is above the law." Former federal prosecutor and criminal defense atorney Andrew Cherkasky joins to explain how the ruling will affect Trump's remaining legal proceedings and why he could now appeal his Manhattan hush-money conviction. The fallout from the first presidential debate continues as the Democratic party weighs President Biden's candidacy. While party leaders have been quick to dismiss the debate as a down night for the President, rumors continue to flow from insiders that a replacement candidate could be a possibility. FOX News Sunday anchor and host of the Livin' The Bream Podcast, Shannon Bream, joins the Rundown to discuss the internal turmoil in the Democratic party following the debate, and about who could potentially replace President Biden as the nominee. Then, Breams gives her take on Monday's historic ruling on the Trump immunity case. Plus, commentary from Will Cain, host of "The Will Cain Show" (Image Via AP) Learn more about your ad choices.
