Phylicia Rashad defends Bill Cosby: ‘Forget these women’

Phylicia Rashad is supporting Bill Cosby.

Rashad, who played Cosby’s wife on “The Cosby Show” for eight seasons, strongly believes the large list of women claiming the actor sexually assaulted them is “orchestrated.”

“Forget these women,” the 66-year-old “For Colored Girls” actress told Showbiz 411 on Tuesday. “What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated. I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. And it’s a legacy that is so important to the culture.”

As of Tuesday, two additional women have joined an existing defamation lawsuit arguing they’ve been dubbed liars by Cosby’s legal representation.

Among the women who’ve accused the TV legend, 77, of either sexual misconduct or being drugged are Janice Dickinson and Beverly Johnson.

“Oh, please,” shot off Rashad, a Tony winner, at the mention of the above women. She’s also quick to defend Camille Cosby, who issued her own statement in December slamming the accusers after 51 years of marriage.

“This is a tough woman, a smart woman,” said Rashad. “She’s no pushover.”

On Wednesday, Cosby, whose Hollywood star was vandalized with the word “rapist,” will hit the stage in Ontario, Canada, for the first of three performances since November.

In recent months, his Netflix special has been postponed and NBC canceled his upcoming show.

“Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV,” said Rashad. “And it’s worked. All his contracts have been canceled.”

Seemingly understanding Cosby’s vow of silence thus far, Rashad is convinced his words would be twisted around.

“If he spoke now, what do you think the media would do with it?” she asked.
