Dermatologist to the stars Dr. Fredric Brant was “deeply hurt” by Tina Fey making fun of his appearance on the Netflix show “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”
Brandt was upset about Martin Short’s portrayal of a nutty plastic surgeon on the hit comedy, but it was not the cause of his death, his spokeswoman exclusively tells Page Six.
Brandt’s longtime publicist Jacquie Trachtenberg told us, “The show definitely deeply hurt him, he was being made fun of because of the way he looks.
“It is mean, and it was bullying. But the show was not the reason for his depression, and it was not the reason he would take his own life.”
She would not confirm the circumstances of his death at his Miami home Sunday, describing it as a “sudden death.”
The Miami medical examiner was performing an autopsy Monday.
