Kylie Jenner influences fashion more than Meghan Markle

The shoppers have spoken, and they apparently prefer American royals over British ones.

According to fashion search engine Lyst’s 2018 Year in Fashion Report, which ranks trends, influencers and brands using a combination of social media, search and sales data, Kylie Jenner is the single most influential celebrity in the style space.

“Kylie has driven more than two million searches this year, from Adidas tracksuits and Dior sunglasses to Victoria’s Secret underwear and Alexander Wang minidresses,” Lyst’s report reads. “A pink minidress that she wore to her birthday party saw searches for ‘pink dresses’ increase 107% in the following 48 hours.”

Coming in second place was Jenner’s half-sister Kim Kardashian, thanks to her ability to get bike shorts, neon swimwear and ’90s thongs trending again. According to Lyst, after Kardashian Instagrammed a photo of herself dressed in head-to-toe Fendi logos, searches for the luxury label’s increased 16 percent month over month.

As for Meghan Markle? The Duchess of Sussex took the third-place spot on the list, with Lyst noting that her royal wedding looks drove huge spikes in search for Givenchy and Stella McCartney. “On average, if Meghan wears a designer, that brand will see a +200% increase in search demand over the following week,” the report added.

Cardi B, Beyoncé, Blake Lively and Rihanna also snagged spots in the top 10.
