Annabella Sciorra testified Thursday that Harvey Weinstein once knocked on her hotel room door in his underwear with a bottle of baby oil and a videocassette — prompting a defense lawyer to ask why she didn’t seek help from Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone.
Sciorra told jurors at Weinstein’s sex assault trial that the incident occurred while she was attending the 1997 Cannes Film Festival in France to promote the Weinstein-produced movie “Cop Land,” in which she played a supporting role.
“I opened the door very early one morning at about 5 a.m., because when you’re in Cannes promoting something, you have to do a lot of press and there are sometimes very early calls,” Sciorra, 59, testified for the prosecution in Manhattan Supreme Court.
“And when I opened the door, the defendant was in his underwear with a bottle of baby oil in one hand and a videotape in the other.”
Sciorra — who claims that Weinstein, 67, raped her in the winter of 1993-94 — said she “got very scared” and “backed into the room and pressed all the call buttons that were there.”
“It was a fancy hotel so [there was] room service, valet service … concierge,” she said.
“People came and he left.”
Later, during cross-examination, lead Weinstein lawyer Donna Rotunno asked Sciorra why she didn’t reach out to some of the movie tough guys who starred in “Cop Land.”
“You were there with Sylvester Stallone?” Rotunno asked.
“I don’t know where Sylvester Stallone was staying. He could have been at his own house,” Sciorra said.
Rotunno then called Stallone and De Niro “heavyweights” in the movie industry.
“Did you go to them and say, ‘Get this guy away from me’?” she asked.
“I never saw anybody until I was walking on the red carpet with Sly,” Sciorra replied.
