Anne Hathaway’s Gap shirt dress is now available to buy
Gap is back and better than ever.
Last week, Anne Hathaway made headlines by attending a Bulgari party in Rome wearing a white Gap shirt dress paired with millions of dollars’ worth of diamonds — and starting right now, you can pre-order the viral style for yourself for just $158 while supplies last. (Jewelry sold separately, of course.)
Designed by Gap Inc.’s newly appointed creative director, Zac Posen, the dress is available in sizes 00 through 16, made from 100% organic cotton and features a nipped-in waist and open neckline. Orders will start shipping in July.

“Designing this custom white shirt dress was an exciting opportunity to reimagine Gap’s classic white shirt,” Posen shared in a statement.
“By incorporating elements like the shirt’s collar and placket, and adding feminine touches with darting at the waist, we created a modern look that pays homage to the elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. It’s a connection of timeless style with contemporary fashion.”
While stylist Erin Walsh layered Hathaway’s atop a matching semi-sheer corset and briefs for a sultry spin, the piece would look equally chic buttoned all the way up — or even styled half-unbuttoned with denim cutoffs and flat sandals for a more casual occasion.
But if you’re hoping to get your hands on one of these dresses, we’d suggest acting fast; quantities are limited, and there’s no promise Gap will be restocking the style.
Hathaway’s modern ensemble aside, the all-American brand’s been making waves since Posen joined the team in February; earlier this month, Gap partnered with celeb-loved label Doên on a special collection brimming with soft florals, sweet eyelet pieces and preppy gingham — many of which are still in stock.
