A 3-year-old boy has died after falling from a ninth-story window.

On Friday, June 21, the boy, identified by family as King Anthony Messiah Davis, fell from a window on the ninth floor of Richert Manor in Flint, Michigan, according to ABC affiliate WJRT-TV, CBS affiliate WNEM-TV and MLive.com.

Flint Police said the incident occurred around 12 p.m. local time, per the outlets.

The child's father, Corey Davis, told WJRT-TV that he and King's mother both live in Richert Manor, but they reside in different units. He said he was outside at the time of his son's fall.

"I come back and my baby is dead," Davis told the outlet. "By the time that I ran, she ran downstairs to get the baby. I was running behind her, and I said, 'What happened?' She said, 'King fell out of the window.' "

Police have not released additional details about how the boy fell, and it is not immediately clear who was watching him at the time, but Flint's First Ward Councilman, Leon El-Alamin, told WJRT-TV this was not the first time a child had fallen out a window of a complex managed by the Flint Housing Commission.
