Abby Elliott Reveals She Was Pregnant When Filming Iconic Omelet Scene on The Bear — and Needed a 'Spit Bucket'

No, chef! Abby Elliott reveals she could not eat the potato chip omelet on The Bear due to pregnancy food aversions. 

On the Tuesday, June 4 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress, 36, reveals she was pregnant during the filming of The Bear season 2, making her unable to eat the season’s iconic omelet without a spit bucket.

“So I was pregnant season 2, actually pregnant on the show, and the one food aversion I had was to eggs,” the mom of two explains. “And so Sydney makes Natalie this beautiful omelet, it’s got goat cheese and potato chips, and I had to have a spit bucket.”

She continues, “And Ayo [Edebiri] executed it perfectly, you know, she was like practicing in the kitchen. She did two takes, I think, and I had to spit it out.”

What would have made the omelet edible at the time for Elliott? 

“If it had Sour Patch Kids on it,” she jokes. “Then I would’ve been like ‘Okay, let’s go!’” 

The SNL alum shares that her son William "Billy," whom she shares with husband Billy Kennedy, is now 12-months old, and he loves both eggs and potato chips. 

“Maybe you’ll learn how to make it, and make it for him,” host Kimmel remarks. 

Kennedy and Elliott are also parents to daughter Edith Pepper, whom the couple welcomed in October 2020.

Back in January, Elliott revealed the sex of her baby boy as she and Kennedy prepared to welcome their second child together.

She showed off her natural beauty and her baby bump as she held her growing belly in a photo shared on Instagram.

"Baby Boy 💙 we can't wait to meet you in June," she captioned the post, which included a snap of a bottle of Ritual's zero-proof tequila alternative.
