For Alexandra Jarvis, leaving the Oppenheim Group was a complicated decision.

During a recent interview with PEOPLE to promote Selling the OC’s upcoming third season, the reality TV star explained why she resigned from the Oppenheim Group’s Newport Beach, Calif. location, around which Selling the OC is focused.

“There were a lot of factors that went into my decision,” Jarvis, 33, tells PEOPLE, pointing to the “toxic culture” from some of her castmates as one.

“I don't really think anyone's surprised by [my departure],” she adds. “I don't really know what to say about it other than I just know when it's time to leave a party.”

Her former boss, Oppenheim Group cofounder and Selling Sunset star Jason Oppenheim, recently commented on her departure to PEOPLE: "I don't want to speak for Jarvis, but ... she decided to do what's best for her, and I have a lot of respect for that. ... We're still on good terms."

Jarvis’s exit from the luxury real estate brokerage, which she confirmed to PEOPLE occurred “several months ago,” was first reported by The Daily Mail. Her photo has not been featured on the Oppenheim Group's website, which lists every member of the team at the Newport Beach office, for several weeks.

The real estate agent is the third cast member to exit the Oppenheim Group since October 2023, when Tyler Stanaland confirmed to PEOPLE he was joining his father at Douglas Elliman as a member of the John Stanaland Group.

"My decision to leave the Oppenheim Group is about making the best decision for my clients and my career,” Tyler told PEOPLE in a statement then. “I’m excited about this new chapter and to be working alongside family again.”

Troubles in Tyler's marriage to Brittany Snow were alluded to on season 1 of Selling the OC. The pair split less than a month after the first season debuted in August 2022.

Sean Palmieri, meanwhile, confirmed his departure from the Oppenheim Group in November 2023, one month after Tyler’s announcement.

"After much consideration, I’ve decided to part ways with the Oppenheim Group," he said in a statement to PEOPLE. "I am very excited about this new chapter in my career and eager to embark on a journey that closely aligns with my professional aspirations and personal growth."

Palmieri's quarrels with colleagues, including Tyler, appear to reach a boiling point in the latest trailer for the show’s third season. His former castmates explain to PEOPLE that with Palmieri no longer at the brokerage, the work culture has changed for the better.

“The toxicity has kind of removed itself,” Polly Brindle says.

“There’s still some, unfortunately,” Alex Hall adds. However, she emphasizes many of the remaining cast members are friendly with one another. “We get on really, really well, and the friendships that you see on the show are just as real in person.”

Jarvis, for her part, is spending time with husband Sergio Ducoulombier, whom she married in April 2023 in a ceremony at the Villa del Balbianello, overlooking Italy's Lake Como. The couple dated for two years before getting engaged on Christmas in 2020.

“I've been enjoying married life,” she tells PEOPLE. “[I’m] just enjoying a little bit less stress, less drama, and just normal everyday life.”
