Susan previously worked as a feature writer and TV critic and columnist at the Oakland Tribune and Alameda Newspaper Group. She also worked at ANG as the books editor and religion editor. She was a Contributing Editor for Success magazine and a reporter for the San Diego Tribune.

Susan is a past president of the Television Critics Association, where she served as a board member and officer, helping to organize the twice-yearly press tours with the networks and studios. Susan was a contributing editor for Success magazine, writing cover stories on celebrities including Harrison Ford, Martha Stewart, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Matt Damon and Robin Williams. She has also been a contributor at Variety, Washington Post, US Weekly, TV Guide, Daily Beast and Today.com.

Susan Young graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree in Political Science and minor in Criminal Justice Administration.
