Billie Eilish Will 'Like You More' If You Smell Good: 'Kind of No. 1'

The Grammy winner opened up about her ideal partner on the latest episode of 'Chicken Shop Date'

If you want to get Billie Eilish's attention, you’d better take a shower.

On the latest episode of Amelia Dimoldenberg's YouTube interview series Chicken Shop Date, the Grammy winner, 22, said that smell is a big factor in determining who she finds attractive.

"[Smell is] kind of No. 1," the singer-songwriter said. "I can get around it, but I’m definitely like — that’s the first thing I notice."

“And I have a very strong nose, so if somebody smells good, I like them more,” she added.

Eilish — who released Hit Me Hard and Soft in May — also spoke to Dimoldenberg about what really lights her fire.

“What turns me on? Passion dude,” she said. “It’s all about passion."

The “bad guy” singer later explained on Chicken Shop Date that when it comes to crushes, she tends to go a little nuts.

“I get absolutely insane,” Eilish said. “When I was growing up, no one I had a crush on ever had a crush on me back, that I know of. It’s demoralizing. It’s sad.”

“All I do is crush on people, all I do,” she added. “When I don’t have a crush, life feels so empty.”

Last month, Eilish discussed her relationship with love in a conversation with Lana Del Rey for Interview magazine, where she talked about how being in love makes her “uncomfortable.”

“I literally hate who I am so much when I’m in love,” she said during her conversation for Interview. “I really don’t like being — I was going to say out of control, but there’s ways that I do like being out of control. I have a power issue and a control issue, and I also don’t like being vulnerable in a romantic way.”

Eilish’s most recent relationship was with The Neighbourhood frontman Jesse Rutherford. In May 2023, her representative confirmed her split from Rutherford to PEOPLE.

In an April interview with Rolling Stone, Eilish said, “I plan on never dating again.”

“That’s not true, obviously. But no, I don’t see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now,” she added.
