The University of Southern California freshman scored 10 points in the Trojans’ win over the University of California on Wednesday night, one game after scoring a career-high 15 points against Oregon State University.

"He's starting to be more confident as a player," USC teammate Kobe Johnson told ESPN after the game. "And he's starting to play his game. When he first got back, he was on a [tighter] minutes restriction and he [was] kind of antsy about what to do. But now he's starting to get into his groove and starting to become the player that everybody knows he is."

Bronny, the oldest son of all-time NBA leading scorer LeBron James, is still just four months out from undergoing a procedure to treat congenital heart defect –  a response to the cardiac arrest he suffered during practice in late July.

James’ oldest son, 19, spent two days in the hospital recovering from the July incident. He then missed the first eight games of the season before returning to the court last month, making his collegiate debut in front of his “super excited” dad, who cheered on courtside.

"It's a big milestone for our family, for sure,” LeBron said about his son’s college debut.

Bronny has since played in six games for USC, averaging 7.5 points per game while seeing limited court time due to his health.

USC head coach Andy Enfield said Bronny’s playing time has been determined by the team’s medical staff and how much time he’ll see on the court will be a “week-by-week type” of decision.

"He's a freshman, [and] this was his sixth game," Enfield said about Bronny’s performance Wednesday night. "He's developing as a player and it's nice to see and nice to watch. He's a typical freshman but he had a little disadvantage over most freshmen where he was out for five months and had to come back in midseason. It's very hard to do.”

Bronny added three assists and two rebounds in the Trojans’ 82-74 win over the Golden Bears, eliciting “Bronny! Bronny!” chants from the USC crowd towards the end of the game.

"He was terrific tonight,” his coach concluded.
