A high-quality breathable yet cozy comforter can seriously upgrade your nighttime routine, providing a plush bedding option perfect for any kind of sleeper. And while it might not seem like it, comforters aren’t just suitable for the winter, either. The right comforter can be ideal for year-round use, especially if you pick one that’s lightweight and temperature-regulating.

If you’ve been meaning to refresh your bedding, you’re in luck. One of our favorite comforters is the Buffy Cloud Comforter — and it’s on sale today. While there are lots of bedding products on the market that claim to have cooling properties, this one was deemed the best comforter for hot sleepers by our PEOPLE Tested team.

We tried more than 30 comforters and duvet inserts first-hand, and this one earned impressive scores on breathability, texture, and value. In our tests, we first considered the loft, fill distribution, and weight of each comforter. Then we assessed stain resistance and durability after following the care instructions for every product.

Whether you’re a hot or cool sleeper, you’ll love the temperature-regulating abilities of the Buffy Cloud Comforter. The down-alternative comforter is made with a Tencel lyocell shell sourced from eucalyptus. It has a 300-thread count and is designed with a sateen weave, which our testers described as soft and smooth. One tester also raved about its lightweight construction and moisture-wicking properties, which help prevent overheating.

The fill consists of recycled poly fibers, which are evenly distributed. And while it’s not the heftiest option we tested, we found that it still kept us at a comfortable temperature throughout the night. “It's worked in all weather and never makes us feel too hot or too cold,” one tester shared. “I love it and think it's worth every penny. It's soft, fluffy, and durable.”

Post-wash, the comforter held up well, as the fill remained fluffy and uniform. However, because of the comforter’s highly absorbent materials, we found it a bit difficult to remove the coffee stain in our tests. And although the comforter is machine washable, shoppers should note that it isn’t dryer-friendly, so you’ll have to hang dry it instead.

The Buffy Cloud Comforter was one of our top-performing picks, so if you’ve been in the market for an exceptionally cozy yet cooling comforter, you’ll definitely want to head to the Buffy website and snag this deal while you still can.
