The couple, who got engaged on Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette in 2016, celebrated what would have been their special day on June 13.

"6.13.20 ... Happy 'What would have been Wedding Day' to us!" Fletcher wrote alongside a photo of the pair cuddling up together.

"As you guys know, we have spent the last 11 months planning the wedding of our dreams but given the circumstances of 2020, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone our special day," she wrote. "Even though I don't get to marry you today @jrodgers11, I know it will be all more worth the wait."

She added, "2021, we really can't wait for you."

However, it might be 2022 now: in a May 2021 interview with Access, Fletcher said the nuptials were "probably gonna be next year" due to continued restrictions at their venue.

"We're rolling with the punches, you know, at this point, it is what it is," she said, explaining that they've "explored a million different options" but the couple are "so in love with our venue" that they'd rather reschedule the nuptials for another time instead of choosing a different location.

"Quite frankly the wedding is still on, but we just decided not to talk about it until the pandemic is over because there are more important things happening in the world," the CNN anchor recently told PEOPLE.

In the meantime, Lemon and Malone, a real estate agent, "have decided to just sort of lean into our lives and live more - and so Saturday nights, we have date night ... we actually get dressed up and walk across the plaza or two blocks and we sit down and we have dinner together like we're going on a date!"

It helps that the couple, who got engaged in 2019 when Malone popped the question via the couple's pooches, have been able to spread out a bit during a COVID year where so many have been cooped up.

"We've moved into a bigger apartment, because we were in a small apartment and we needed more space," Lemon added.

The former New Kids on the Block singer got engaged to personal trainer Rodriguez in 2016 after nearly eight years of dating. Their wedding was on track for 2021 - but unfortunately, life had other plans.

"We were going to get married on the farm this year under a tent and then have the ceremony in our barn," Knight recently told PEOPLE of their wedding, referring to the expansive property where he and Rodriguez live in Massachusetts. "We had everything lined up: the caterers, the entertainment. We were going to get married under candlelight. And then that all just stopped."

"We're on the fence if we just go elope," Knight continued. "Or, we just wait it out a couple more years and have a really good celebration with our families."

"I mean, it's been a year push back now," Higgins, who began dating Clarke in 2018 after he slid into her Instagram DMs, told PEOPLE in January 2021. "I'm making this commitment that I've been ready to make with her for a long time and it just keeps getting pushed back."

While the former Bachelor star shared that he has "stayed out" of most of the wedding planning, he admitted it's been difficult for his soon-to-be bride.

"I think the hard part is just having in the back of your head, like, 'We could plan on this thing, and it could maybe not happen. It could be changed completely,' " he said. "That's tough. It's also trying to plan it so that grandparents can come, hopefully, and that way they can be there to celebrate with us. I think that's the part that is the most stressful, just not knowing."

Though the newly engaged pair haven't yet set a date, Stefani told Ryan Seacrest they are waiting to tie the knot until we're living in a post-pandemic world.

"I would say I just want my parents there at this point. My parents wouldn't come to Thanksgiving because they're so scared so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. Like, I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing," said the mom of three, who shares sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

"Even when you cut it down to just family, it's too many people for COVID so we're going to see what happens in the next few months," The Voice coach shared.

The reality stars, who met on season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise and got engaged in 2019, announced the news in separate posts to their respective Instagram accounts on July 22, 2020, with Loch sharing that she will now walk down the aisle late in 2021.

"Well y'all, time to give you guys a wedding update," Loch began alongside a sweet photo of herself and Wendt sharing a warm embrace. "We've decided to postpone to November 2021 & weirdly enough we're actually okay with it."

"We realized it was time to take a step back and reevaluate our priorities," Loch continued. "And as much as I was disappointed at first (mostly bc now we won't get married on Friday the 13th) it's been a great reminder of why we're getting married in the first place."

They had an even happier update for fans in May 2021, however: they're expecting a child together after a "time consuming," year-long journey through IVF.

The couple gave an update on their upcoming wedding during an appearance on the June 29, 2020, episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons - Ever!, revealing that they have not yet resumed wedding planning amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"No plans as of right now. We've put all planning on hold," Hyland told host Chris Harrison. "All of my family is mostly on the East Coast, so for them to fly out ... and just ages and of course with my health risks, we want to be as safe as possible."

Hyland, who suffers from kidney dysplasia and is immunocompromised, is at a higher risk for contracting the viral respiratory illness.

The Victoria's Secret Angel told PEOPLE exclusively that her upcoming nuptials to boyfriend Alex DeLeon have been pushed back by a year - but the couple are "just happy that our family and friends are happy and healthy" amid the pandemic.

"It was a tough decision to make," Skriver admitted, explaining, "When you wait for a moment your entire life and then have to postpone, it's never easy. We debated it for weeks, trying everything we could to make it work. At the end of the day the safety of our friends and family was the most important."

She added: "People around the world are going through so much worse than a wedding postponement. It would be selfish of us to complain."

In the meantime, the model said she is looking on the bright side. "I think the one year move-back will give me time to really enjoy the process more. It was a lot more stressful than I thought and I'm excited to use this time to make it even more special."

The Princess of Greece and Denmark and her L.A.-based attorney fiancé have canceled their wedding.

"Unfortunately, it has been canceled due to COVID-19 and we do not have a new date scheduled at this time," a palace communications officer confirmed to Her & Nu, according to Hola! "However, we are analyzing the situation in detail to see when the wedding could take place."

The couple was set to marry in May 2020 on the Greek island of Spetses, although the details have not been confirmed by the royal office. The two have been engaged since November 2018.

The Today co-host and her entrepreneur fiancé are debating postponing their nuptials amid the ongoing public health crisis, Kotb revealed to PEOPLE exclusively.

The pair are "literally about to push the button on the save the dates" for their beach wedding, Kotb shared.

"We kind of have our reservations, we know what we want to do, but who's to know if it's going to need to be delayed? So Joel and I have been discussing it," she added of their discussion to postpone.

"It's such small potatoes," she said of trying to plan her wedding amid the current crisis. "My friend was telling me that she was at a Zoom funeral the other day, and I almost died inside. I was like, 'Oh my God.' "

The TV anchor continued: "So if you're planning a celebration, and you're wondering when it should be, just be lucky you have a celebration to plan."

Kotb added that she "already feel[s] married" to Schiffman, whom she's been dating for seven years and calls her "lifelong partner."

"I'm so happy to say 'I do' and I'm also happy to do it whenever we need to, but as far as I'm concerned, it's a formality now," she said.

"Everything's on hold right now," supermodel Christie Brinkley told Extra on March 30, 2020, of her oldest daughter's wedding to fiancé Ryan Gleason, who popped the question in December 2017.

Alexa, a singer-songwriter, previously told PEOPLE that her wedding will feature a special moment with her famous father, Billy Joel. "We're going to sing," she said. "We're going to duet. It's going to be like a musical. I'm always happiest when I'm singing. When I sing with Dad, it's just the easiest thing in the world. We've been singing together since I was a kid, so it's an honor to be able to just do that with him."

The "Never Worn White" singer and the Carnival Row star, who welcomed daughter Daisy in August 2020, made the difficult decision to postpone their nuptials in early March of that year, according to a source. The wedding was set to take place in Japan this summer.

"It was all set for Japan with 150 guests. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant," the source close to the couple told PEOPLE. "They were both so elated that all the wedding details were finally coming together, but they are hitting pause because of coronavirus."

The Vanderpump Rules star and her Hollywood producer fiancé postponed their April 2020 wedding, the couple told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.

"We have decided to move the date of our wedding ... given the unfortunate circumstances of what is going on," they said. "We are obviously saddened by this but for the ultimate safety of our families and guests, we have made the decision to wait and see how everything progresses. Safety will always be our number one priority."

The couple, who co-hosts the Give Them Lala…with Randall podcast, got engaged during a romantic getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in September 2018.

And in even bigger news, the pair welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Ocean, in March 2021.

Govan and Fisher, a former NBA player and current head coach for the Los Angeles Sparks, confirmed to PEOPLE in March 2020 that they were rescheduling their April wedding.

"It was just based off of what the CDC advised and the current state of affairs," explained Govan of the decision. "We just felt like it was in everyone's best interest, really."

She added, "So we were like, 'Yeah, it's just probably best to postpone.' We had a few people traveling, a lot of our parents and aunts and uncles who are a little older. So we felt like it was in their best interest, and for everybody, to just not put anyone at risk. It was obviously a really crappy decision to have to make."

The wedding will still happen eventually, of course - joked Govan, "I still like him. I'm gonna keep him around for a while."

"We have a great wedding planner," she added. "Erica Friedman is absolutely brilliant. She's been really sweet with handling the vendors for us, you know, and explaining the situation."

The Bachelor in Paradise stars were supposed to tie the knot last summer but were forced to postpone their nuptials due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On an episode of The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons - Ever!, the bride said they are biding their time for the perfect day.

"We were supposed to be married three times by now and haven't yet," Gates said with a laugh. "My brother asked me over the weekend, 'Are you married yet? Have you just not went ahead and eloped at this point?' And I'm like, 'No, we're waiting it out.'"

The two finally said "I do" on April 16, 2021, in a scaled-back ceremony in Dallas.

Tom Payne & Jennifer Akerman

The Walking Dead star shared an April 2020 Instagram tribute to his fiancée, Swedish singer and model Josephine Akerman, on what would have been their wedding day.

"Today there was going to be a wedding in New York. One of many I'm sure. Out of all the things that have changed a wedding is something that can wait. We have each other and that is more than enough. Love to everyone out there. Love is all we have. It's enough for me," he wrote.

The actor popped the question to Akerman, who is the sister of actress Malin Akerman, in November 2018. The pair have been dating since 2013.

In December 2020, they surprised followers with the news that they quietly tied the knot. "After having to cancel our wedding back in April and not knowing how long the world will be under lockdown, we felt like we still wanted to end this year as husband and wife, so we did," she wrote on Instagram.
