King and Carpenter met years ago at a charity event, and though they weren't "super close" at first, that has certainly changed over the years, the Family Affair actress explained to Wired.

"We don't know why it took us so long to become as close as we are now," she said.

During a recent sit-down on Watch What Happens Live, King said the "Espresso" singer is "my girl."

"I've known her since we were like 12," she said before sharing that she hasn't gone on a double date "yet" with the star and Barry Keoghan — who sparked dating rumors last year.

The two were adorable on the red carpet at the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globe after party in 2020.

Fast forward to this summer, as Carpenter continues to release majorly catchy songs from "Espresso" to "Please, Please, Please," King shared her pride for her friend's success.

"Yesterday is the first time I've seen her perform in a few years because every time that I wanted to go to one of her big shows, our schedules kind of miss each other," King said at the N.Y.C. premiere of  Despicable Me 4 in June, referring to seeing Carpenter perform at the Governors Ball music festival.

"I literally was sobbing after the show. I was so proud of her. She's just amazing," she added.

And, like many others out there, King admitted that she "can't stop singing 'Please Please Please'."

"It's so rude of her to make a hit like that. It's also so rude to make such an addicting music video," she continued, referring to the music video that stars Keoghan. ”It's really rude to make me watch it six times at 2:00 a.m. when I want to go to bed.”
