Glen Powell is grateful for his wise parents!
Appearing on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Wednesday, June 5, the actor, 35, revealed the advice his mother Cyndy and father Glen Powell Sr. — who have been married for over 40 years — gave to him about romance.
“You know they do give me love advice ‘cause I do think love surviving that long in this world is really tough,” Glen said. “I think you do have to have some tricks.”
“I think for them the thing that they always tell me is, ‘You gotta find somebody with a sense of humor,' " he added. "You know, life is inevitably gonna have highs and lows but you always have to have somebody that can see the silver lining, the bright side of things and just the humor whether it’s good or bad.”

In November, Glen shared a carousel post of snaps that featured him and his parents at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. where his father had proposed 40 years prior.
"Quick trip to the foot of the Jefferson Memorial…where 40 years ago my dad proposed to my mom," his caption read. "Happy Anniversary, you two. Lucky to have your love in my life every day."
Glen’s comments about his parents' advice also come after they trolled him at a special screening of his movie Hit Man in May, where he was also inducted into the Texas Film Hall of Fame at the Paramount Theatre.

As he posed on the red carpet, his parents held up cardboard signs behind his back, with Cyndy’s card reading, “STOP TRYING TO MAKE GLEN POWELL HAPPEN.”
Glen Sr.'s card also added, “IT’S NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.”
Addressing the prank, Glen later explained that it was his parents’ sense of humor.
"Well, my family — always my mom and my dad — are known for kind of trolling me a bit," he told Entertainment Tonight. "I don't read tweets, but my parents read tweets — so if you're talking s---, know that my parents are reading those tweets."
"They thought that was going to be a funny idea so I loved it," he continued. "Even though they troll me, they support me in every way."
Known for their sense of humor, Glen also clapped back at his mother in February after E! News published a story about how Cyndy keeps her son humble.
Retweeting the article on X (formerly known as Twitter), which was titled “Why Glen Powell’s Mom Described Him as a ‘Little Douchey,’ ” Glen joked, “Anyone have good nursing home recommendations? I feel like it’s time.”
The star, who has a close bond with his parents, also attended the red carpet with them at the Sundance premiere of Hit Man back in January.
