Gypsy Rose Blanchard is making a personal change with a powerful impact.

Since her early release from prison on Dec. 28, Gypsy, 32, has used social media as a platform to celebrate her everyday milestones with her followers.

Her content has revolved around everything from her love life with husband Ryan Anderson to outfit-of- the day-clips. And recently, she updated fans on her dramatic hair transformation, which she did for a cause.

Gypsy took to TikTok and Instagram over the weekend to share that she’d cut off eight inches of her hair

In her post, she included a selfie with her new look, captioned with the hashtag #expressyourself, and a photo of her chopped strands.

“It’s never too late to start reinventing yourself, even if it is something subtle like a new hairstyle To all the girls, boys, and non-binary…enjoy life, express yourself in whatever creative ways makes you happy. Life is too short to hide your beauty. Let the world see you shine!” she wrote alongside the slide of pictures.

She then filmed a TikTok video explaining her reason for the major change.

“So what I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time is to donate my hair to a charity that makes wigs for people that have hair loss or that are going through cancer,” she shared, adding that she plans to send her locks to The Great Cut.

The charity is partnered with Children with Hair Loss, which provides hair replacements to children with medically-related hair loss at zero cost to their families.

She continued: “I have had my own personal experience with hair loss not by means of health reasons but if you know my story you’re very familiar with those reasons why.”

Growing up, Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a rare psychological disorder in which a caretaker, often one’s mother, seeks attention and medical help for exaggerated or made-up symptoms of a child in their care.

Her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, trapped her in a web full of medical lies, including a false cancer diagnosis, for which she shaved Gypsy’s hair.

Gypsy later served seven years for pleading guilty to murder for her role in the killing of Dee Dee.

“For me, not having hair was really hard on my self-esteem. So, I just want to do something to help other people that are going through issues with hair loss because I know the only time that I ever felt beautiful is when I was wearing a wig,” Gypsy explained while sharing an old photo of her without hair.

She ended the video by taking her hair out of its ponytail to show off her shorter wavy style in its entirety. “I think it looks kinda cute,” she said.
